Balanced Rock Hike
Trough Creek State Park This scenic hike begins with panoramic views of the Great Trough Creek gorge from several lookouts as it winds through historic areas and the remains of the Paradise Furnace schoolhouse and Paradise Furnace, which was constructed in 1827 and produced more than 12 tons of cast iron a day. Geological wonders along this trail include Balanced Rock – a huge erosion remnant that hangs out over the valley and Great Trough Creek.
